HOW TO BECOME A PROGRAMMER 2023 (Within a year)
Becoming something is one of the hardest things to do, let alone becoming a programmer, becoming that code geek everyone knows to be a genius. These are simple nuggets and easy etiquette to keep you going this year, you can admit these nuggets and etiquettes as your mantra going forward:
1) Choose a programming language, there are varieties like Python, Java, PHP, and JavaScript to choose from, just choose one
2) Focus on that programming language for the best part of 2023.
3) Assemble a team of two or three to learn and build with.
4) No question is stupid, challenge your team with a lot of perceived stupid questions, the point is, don’t be afraid to ask questions.
5) Practice neat coding as you learn, your code should be easy to maintain and manage by other people.
6) Don’t memorize programming syntax, just do it anyways, and fall back to the documentation and google when you forget any of the syntaxes.
7) Debugging should not bug you, it is normal to keep fixing.
8) IDEs, documentation, and google should be your best programming tools.
9) Use a lot of shortcuts, it is normal.
10) You can learn the rules of a game and still don’t know how to play the game, the simple truth is to play the game, by playing the game, you get to learn more.
11) Stop learning and start building with your team, that way, you learn as you play the game and have fun while at it.
12) Your team should be your own inspiration, you guys should challenge each other.
13) No programming language is wack, learn and master a programming language by building semantically on its syntax.
14) Have a goal for the year.
15) Patience is a virtue, so be patient my dear, and fixate your eyes on the goal.
16) Listen to a lot of music as you build.
17) It is okay to cool off with movies and other entertaining activities.
18) Delete social media applications or use them less.
19) Don’t joke with documentation, read thoroughly through.
20) Practice and keep practicing, build a solid portfolio while at it.
This is my little way of saying Happy New Year to all and sundry, just be intentional about everything this year. wish you all the possible best in it.
